At Alfred Lord Tennyson we are committed to improving the health and wellbeing of our children via our whole school approach. We also work in close partnership with the School Nursing Service and Northamptonshire Sport.
Our whole school approach includes:
- Teaching healthy lifestyles through our PSHE and science lessons
- Improving emotional health and wellbeing
- Promoting positive mental health and resilience
- Teaching relationships and sex education
- Drugs and alcohol education
- 60 active minutes a day
- Reporting a Worry
We are excited to share that this year we are working towards achieving a Bronze Healthy Schools award run by the Healthy Schools team in Northamptonshire. This is ‘a set of evidence-based standards which are designed to improve the health and wellbeing of whole school communities. It promotes a whole school approach to mental health and wellbeing, healthy eating, physical activity and PSHE, through the use of a self-assessment tool’.
